Birthday Freebie #4

Happy Friday Jr., y'all! I started celebrating early with my kiddos today since one of my student's birthdays is tomorrow. I wanted to make sure we give her extra special attention for her special day.

This week in math, we started our measurement unit using non standard measurement tools likes cubes. Our library closes up early at the end of the year so I needed to come up with a math activity to fill out some of the specials time. I whipped up a quick worksheet for table groups to record their group's answers when they measure items in the classroom. I wish I thought of taking pictures when I did this activity today but I forgot.

Birthday Freebie #3

It's been another busy day in Kindergarten! It finally reached up to the 80s and the sun was out all day during school. :) The sun made my teacher heart so happy!

Do you have teacher friends working in other states? If so, send your teacher friend a friendly letter made by your students. Every time we do a pen pal letter, my students get so giddy when they see the "snail mail" from another class.

A couple years ago, when I was working at an international school in China, my kindergarteners wrote letters to one of my best friend's kindergarten class in Ohio.

Download this freebie to send a pen pal letter to anyone in the America. Have your kids color the state they are from. Or have your students send YOU a letter during the summer.

Hello Friends! Happy Tuesday! It's so cold here in Chicagoland, that I had to turn the heat back on to stay warm, haul out my winter coat (AGAIN), and wear hats and mittens at school.

This cold and windy weather is reminding me of winter and I am not liking it one bit! It's mid-May and I can't believe it's this cold still! So to remember today, I am sharing you a sample of one animal poem I have been working on.

My kinder love poems and songs. So I came up with this one during our Arctic animal unit.

Celebrating my Birthday Week with Freebies!

Hello! In five days, I will be turning the BIG 3-0! I'm full of mixed emotions but mostly excited for the next chapter of my life!

So in honor of stepping into a new decade, I wanted to share a freebie with you each and every day of this week. It's been busy in Kindergarten with juggling the ABC countdown, doing assessments, and basically surviving the rest of the school year.

I've had a lot of strong women role models in my life. My mother being one of them. My mom is the bones of my spine. She keeps me standing tall and true. She is a superhero! She beat breast cancer. She immigrated to the U.S. from Hong Kong with my dad newly married in her early twenties. She further her education with two masters degrees while pregnant and raising my sister and I. She's unstoppable and still has many dreams she wants to achieve!

I've used this worksheet to highlight amazing women with my fourth grade students during Women's history month. It's simple and easy to you. You can print it on colored paper or matte on colored paper.

On the top left corner, students can draw a picture or add a photograph. This activity would also be great for Mother's day too!
